Almost always when we are diving… we are the biggest and loudest thing down there.
So almost everything that we see will go and hide if we pay it more attention than it’s comfortable with.
We get fleeting glances of things, before they duck for cover. Kike this Reef Spider Crab… who is a pretty formidable character himself.
Sometimes we can get a pixture of part of it… in its hiding place.
Then we hunt through our reference books and the Internet to confirm what we saw.
When Lydia first saw this guy he was partially exposed with both of his big claws out and ready for business was.
But by the time I got there with my camera he had retreated to hide… and this is all I saw.
